From a simple idea in Thunder Bay to Canada's favourite local food delivery aggregator.
It was 2024 in Thunder Bay, Ontario. David Park, a local food enthusiast, was trying to find the best deal for a group dinner. He had six different delivery apps open—comparing prices, delivery times, and menus across each one.
"Why isn't there one platform that shows me everything?" he asked. That night, the idea for Local Eats Canada was born.
David gathered a small group of fellow food lovers and built a solution: one platform that displays all local restaurants, compares prices, and shows delivery times. Starting with just 12 local restaurants in Thunder Bay, Local Eats Canada has grown to partner with over 500 restaurants across 50+ Canadian cities.
Today, Local Eats Canada connects Canadians with 500+ local restaurants across the country. From Vancouver to Halifax, we help you discover great local food at fair prices, all in one place.
We're proudly headquartered in Thunder Bay, Ontario, with a growing remote team across Canada. We're an independent company—not affiliated with any major chains. Our mission is simple: connecting every Canadian with great local food at fair prices.
We believe choosing where to eat should be easy, not overwhelming. Our values drive everything we do.
We champion independent restaurants and help them compete by giving them visibility and technology.
No hidden fees. No surprise charges. You see the total price before you order, always.
From browsing to doorstep delivery, we optimize every step so you get your food fast.
We promote eco-friendly packaging and optimize delivery routes to reduce our carbon footprint.
We donate 1% of our revenue to Canadian food banks through our community program.
Your data is yours. We never sell personal information and follow strict PIPEDA compliance.
We believe in being upfront about our business model. Here's exactly how we generate revenue.
We charge a commission (10–15%) to partner restaurants for each order placed through our platform. This is industry standard and keeps our service free for customers.
Restaurants can pay for featured placement to appear higher in search results. These are always marked "Sponsored" for transparency.
A $1.99–$3.99 service fee covers platform costs including order processing, customer support, and delivery coordination.
What we don't do: We never sell your data, never inflate restaurant prices, and no hidden fees. The price you see is the price you pay.
